The Mummy 4 Is Officially Rising | And We’re Losing Our Damn Minds About It

After years of whispers and false starts, it’s finally happening!

The Mummy 4 is in the works… and yes, Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz are reportedly in talks to return as the legendary Rick and Evelyn O’Connell.

According to Deadline, sources have confirmed that Universal is resurrecting one of the greatest adventure series of the last 30 years. And here at Slav’s Free Talk, we’re not just excited… we’re ready to crack open the Book of the Dead ourselves.

The film will be directed by the dynamic duo behind Scream (2022) and Ready or Not, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, with a script from David Coggeshall (The Haunting in Connecticut 2, The Deliverance).

Universal hasn’t dropped official comments yet, but the tomb is cracked open and the hype is real.

The Mummy franchise didn’t just give us thrills… it defined late ’90s adventure cinema.

Brendan Fraser’s charmingly reckless Rick O’Connell and Rachel Weisz’s brilliant, brave Evelyn Carnahan were the heartbeat of that franchise.

The Mummy (1999) and The Mummy Returns (2001) were perfect popcorn perfection mixing Indiana Jones style heroics with mystical horror and witty banter that made the O’Connells pop off the screen.

Sure, Tomb of the Dragon Emperor swapped out Weisz for Maria Bello and sent Rick east to fight Jet Li’s undead emperor, but even then, Fraser carried it with pure charisma.

And honestly, who didn’t grow up wanting to swing a sword, blow up a mummy, and kiss Rachel Weisz in a sandstorm?

Universal tried rebooting The Mummy in 2017 with Tom Cruise and Sofia Boutella, and… yeah, let’s just say it didn’t quite have the same magic.

So this new project feels less like another reboot and more like a long awaited resurrection.

What’s it about? No clue yet… but if Fraser and Weisz are truly coming back, Universal knows what the people want… nostalgia, humor, heart, and maybe a dash of sand fueled chaos.

Whether Imhotep returns or not, the O’Connells’ comeback is enough to make fans and us here at Slav’s Free Talk ready to dive headfirst into adventure again.

Because honestly… the world needs Brendan Fraser back in a fedora, cracking jokes, and saving humanity from ancient curses.

The Mummy is back. And so is our inner kid.
