Upcoming Jimmy Olsen DC Studios Series | What We Know So Far
DC Studios is cooking up something different here and it sounds like a hit.
There are rumors circulating that upcoming Jimmy Olsen series is being built as a mockumentary-style true-crime show, except instead of serial killers and crooked CEOs, Jimmy will be “investigating” supervillains.
Think American Vandal meets DC Comics… with Gorilla Grodd as Season 1’s big case.
It’s going to be comedic.
It’s going to be weird.
It’s absolutely ambitious.
And it perfectly fits Jimmy’s chaotic energy.
However, don’t expect Superman or Lois to show up as this is Jimmy’s world, and he’s going to be getting the spotlight to himself.
(And yes, despite early confusion, “DC Crime” was never the official title. Gunn has cleared that up.)
Production Timeline | The Early 2026 Rumblings
DC hasn’t stamped dates on anything yet… but there is some chatter already heating up.
Greenlit in late 2025 after Jimmy blew up with fans.
Tony Yacenda and Dan Perrault (American Vandal) are steering the ship as writers/showrunners.
Speculation points to filming starting March/April 2026.
If that holds, the Olsen series could be filming right alongside Man of Tomorrow, which makes perfect sense for the shared DCU production pipeline.
So if that is all true we are looking at…
Early 2026 production start with 2027 release likely.
Nothing official, but the puzzle pieces line up cleanly.
Filming Location if we go out on a limb… All Signs Point to Georgia
While DC Studios hasn’t planted the flag publicly, the safest bet right now is
Atlanta, Georgia.
Superman (2025) filmed there.
Man of Tomorrow (2027) will film there.
Warner Bros. has infrastructure there… including Daily Planet sets ready to reuse.
It fits the pattern, it fits the rumors, and it fits the budget.
Official confirmation is still pending, but let’s be real… Georgia is the DCU’s home turf right now.
