Thunderbolts Is Holding On… But Barely.*

So, Thunderbolts* dropped 55% in its second weekend. Which, to be fair, isn't bad. In fact, it’s basically on par with the first Guardians and Captain Marvel. Disney’s own Sunday report says it's pulling in $33.1 million for the weekend—enough to keep it in the top spot thanks to Sinners finally taking a bit of a breather.

Now, before anyone starts handing out participation trophies, let’s be real, this isn't a massive win. Thunderbolts* is tracking toward a domestic finish just shy of $200 million… However, a Memorial Day bump might push it over the line. But here’s the kicker, that’s still behind Captain America: Brave New World, which is expected to land around $201 million. And guess what? Thunderbolts actually has better legs. Just not better results.

OUCH!

Internationally? Same story. Cap's doing $214.6 million overseas, and Thunderbolts* will probably limp across a similar line. Right now, it’s got $143.7 million internationally, bringing its worldwide total to $272.2 million. Best markets? UK with $15.5 million, China with $13.8 million, and Mexico at $11.2 million. So, yeah… not exactly lighting the world on fire.

Meanwhile, Sinners is still out there putting in the work. Dropped just 36% in weekend four and has officially crossed $200 million domestic. Worldwide? $280 million and climbing. This movie’s the tortoise to Marvel’s erratic hare.

And Minecraft? Oh, just casually dropping 42% and still raking in $7.7 million domestically… on its way to a mind blowing $909 million global haul. Yep. A blocky video game adaptation is outgrossing Marvel.

So yeah—Thunderbolts* isn’t a flop… yet. But it sure as hell ain’t a triumph either.
