It's Time for a New Direction: Why the Snyder Fandom Needs a Reset
Hey there, Snyder fans! I want to take a moment to speak directly to those who, like me, have been passionate about Zack Snyder’s vision and what the #SnyderCut movement originally stood for. It was something special a community united by a love of art, a sense of justice, and the desire to see an artist’s work honored.
But over the last couple years, the fandom has lost their way.
When this movement began, it was driven by positivity, doing great things like raising over $500,000 for suicide prevention and awareness.
We made Warner Bros. take notice and give Zack the chance to share his vision. That’s something to be proud of! But in the last few years, the spirit of collaboration has given way to infighting, negativity, and even hostility. What happened?
A Time for Reflection
The recent venomous comments aimed at James Gunn made one thing very clear: the movement has reached a crossroads.
If you are truly about supporting artistic integrity and standing by Zack Snyder, then its tine to hit pause and reevaluate what you are doing and why.
Is this what Zack would want? Is this what you want your fandom to be known for?
I’ve was part of this community from 2017 to about 2022. I put in time, energy, and passion because I believed in it. But as things got darker—more aggressive and toxic. Because f that I had to step back. I began to feel like the movement was losing its core purpose.
But here’s the thing: It’s not too late to turn things around.
A New Path Forward: #AnimateTheSnyderVerse
If you want to continue supporting Zack and his creative vision, then it’s time for a fresh approach. One that’s grounded in respect and positivity, not division and hatred. And this is where #AnimateTheSnyderVerse comes in.
Why animation? Because it’s a feasible, respectful way to complete the story we all love without antagonizing the studio or tarnishing the reputation of the fandom further. Zack himself has mentioned that he’s open to telling his unfinished tale through this medium, so why not embrace it?
Why We Need to Move On from #RestoreTheSnyderVerse
Look, I know this might be tough for some to hear, but the #RestoreTheSnyderVerse campaign has run its course. It’s no longer seen as a movement for creative integrity, it’s become a toxic rallying cry.
It needs to distance itself from that, not because you are giving up on Zack and his story, but because you want to elevate it.
Shift your focus to something that’s achievable, positive, and truly in the spirit of what Zack and this fandom once stood for. Embrace #AnimateTheSnyderVerse as a way to celebrate and support his artistic vision in a respectful manner.
A Movement of Positivity and Respect
Here’s what this new movement is about:
No more attacking James Gunn, Warner Bros., or DC executives.
No more trolling other DC fans or disrupting unrelated projects.
Get back to doing good—let’s organize more events to raise awareness and funds for causes that matter, like AFSP (American Foundation for Suicide Prevention).
Let’s Be the Better People
It’s time to get back to what made this fandom great. It’s about being the shining light, not the dark cloud.
Show the world that this fandom is capable of driving change and creating good in a world that’s full of noise and negativity.
Start fresh and focus on #AnimateTheSnyderVerse. One hashtag, one goal, and one movement based on respect and positivity.
Do this, the right way. Together. ✊
