Final Destination: Bloodlines Just Made History... And Warner Bros. Is on a Freakin' Roll

Final Destination: Bloodlines just pulled off a franchise record with a $51 million domestic debut—and over $100 million worldwide. Yeah, that's the fifth-biggest opening weekend of the year and Warner Bros.’ third hit in a row. Between Bloodlines, Minecraft, and Sinners, WB is now comfortably leading the studio race in 2025, sitting over $100 million ahead of Disney. Let that sink in.

Now, before anyone thinks Bloodlines is about to repeat Sinners-level legs... hold your horses. Next weekend is a war zone. You’ve got Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning and Lilo & Stitch launching like cinematic nukes. Still, word of mouth on Bloodlines has been surprisingly strong, so if it only dips around 50%? That’s a massive win.

As for the other newbie this week—Hurry Up Tomorrow starring Jenna Ortega and The Weeknd—ehhh, not great. It limped into sixth place with just $3.3 million. Yikes.

Over in Marvel land, Thunderbolts held onto the #2 spot, raking in another $16 million and pushing its total to $325 million. Not bad, but don’t expect crazy legs here. I’m guessing it’ll finish somewhere between $350–$400 million when the dust settles.

Sinners grabbed third, bringing its global haul to $316 million. Still solid.

And then there’s Minecraft... chugging along in fourth with a staggering $925 million worldwide. That billion-dollar milestone is still within reach, but it's starting to feel just out of grasp unless it gets a serious boost soon.

Now let’s talk about the real heat coming this weekend: Lilo & Stitch. Word is, Disney dropped a clean $100 million on it, and anything north of $250 million is pure gravy. Expect big numbers.

Mission: Impossible, though? That’s where it gets messy. Rumor has it the budget crossed the $400 million mark. Yeah—that high. Tom Cruise still brings folks to the theater, but the question is: can Mission hit hard enough this time around? The biggest haul the franchise ever saw was Fallout back in 2018, which made $790 million. That’s the target.

Buckle up. The next box office report is gonna be wild.
