DC K.O. Review | Somehow… Darkseid Has Returned. And He’s Throwing Hands.

It' seems that DC’s All In era has been building to this, and DC K.O. #1 finally drops the hammer.

Thirty two heroes and villains enter a cosmic tournament to decide who gets to fight Darkseid himself for the title of “King Omega.”

It’s wild, it’s ridiculous and it’s kinda awesome.

I’ll be honest, when this was first announced, I thought it sounded goofy as hell… even after it’s release I wasn’t even interested at all.

But lately it seems in the lull between mainline Batman issues and ranting on YouTube I decided to give this a shot.

And believe it or not… this comic delivers.

Scott Snyder brings his signature madness, tying together threads from Superman, Justice League Unlimited, and All In Special into one massive, chaotic event.

It’s a bit messy at times, sure, but it’s the kind of fun, over the top chaos that can make comics great again.

Javi Fernández’s art is strong. The action feels larger than life, with some killer layouts… especially the sequence on Apokolips that mirrors the board game scene from earlier.

When I sit back and think about it… DC K.O. #1 is sorta bonkers in the best way possible.

It’s Snyder doing what he does best by turning pure comic insanity into something epic.

The story’s a little convoluted, but who cares?

The hype is real, the energy’s electric, and Darkseid is ready to wreck whoever wins.
