I’ve been mulling over this idea for a while now, and the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. What if James Gunn has already cast his Batman for the DCU? Honestly, I wouldn’t put it past him. Imagine this. at the end of "SUPERMAN," Batman makes a surprise appearance. Just picture it for a moment. Gunn and his team somehow figured everything out behind the scenes, keeping it all a secret from the rest of us.
For months, fans have been speculating, should Robert Pattinson be Batman in the DCU? Should they go with a totally different take? The debates have been endless. We’ve seen social media battles, wild fan theories, and everything in between. But what if James Gunn, in his bold and creative style, pulled off a masterstroke by secretly casting Batman months ago and filming a surprise scene?
Imagine this. Gunn, David Corenswet (Superman), and the newly cast Batman meet in a closed set—just a handful of people present. No big production team, just the essential crew—maybe a director, cameraman, and an editor to piece it together later. They shoot this small but significant moment in a gritty warehouse, a single scene that nobody even knew existed until it hits the screen. And then bam, Batman shows up. A subtle yet mind-blowing tease that the Dark Knight is already part of the DCU, leaving fans to go wild.
It's a tantalizing thought, right? I mean, the idea of a secret Batman reveal would send shockwaves through the fandom. Gunn, being as unpredictable and creative as he is, could absolutely pull this off. And here’s the thing, this theory isn't as far-fetched as it seems. Gunn recently clarified that Matt Reeves’ "The Batman" universe and the DCU are completely separate entities. Pattinson’s Batman will stay within the realm of Reeves' films, and a new Batman will step into the DCU. It's crystal clear that these two versions will not cross paths.
So, with that out in the open, it’s safe to say the speculation about Pattinson joining the DCU should end here. It’s time to focus on what Gunn’s version of the Dark Knight will be. Given Gunn's track record, it wouldn’t be surprising if he’s already cast Batman and is simply waiting for the perfect moment to drop that bombshell on us.
I could totally see him pulling off something crazy like this. Imagine watching "SUPERMAN," and suddenly, out of nowhere, Batman steps into the frame, setting up his role in the future of the DCU. Gunn is known for taking risks and doing the unexpected this would be no exception.
Of course, I don’t have any hard evidence to back this theory up, but wouldn’t it be amazing? It’s fun to speculate, and the thought of James Gunn secretly weaving Batman into the DCU while the rest of us were busy debating makes for a wild ride.
What do you think? Could Gunn have already cast Batman in secret? Do you think we’ll get a Batman cameo sooner than we expect? I’d love to hear your thoughts drop them in the comments below, and let’s get this discussion going!
Until next time, keep theorizing!
